To be reintroduced in 2003 as the… Best Western Hotel Tria

The Best Western Hotel Tria is an intimate, comfortable 69-room hotel, located just minutes from downtown Cambridge by subway or Route 2 (Alewife Brook Parkway) and moments to fine dining, shopping and entertainment in the Cambridge/Boston area. This family-owned boutique property will officially be reintroduced in 2003 as the Best Western Hotel Tria… with style and services to appeal to your senses. All guestrooms are newly renovated and fresh pampering amenities are being introduced. The hotel features 900 square feet of meeting space and a staff committed to excellence. Complimentary parking, continental breakfast, morning newspaper, local calls (up to 30-minutes per call) are included for overnight guests.
History: In 1950 the Lingos family purchased a small piece of land where they built what was to become their family legacy… The Homestead Donut House.
Soon the Donut House expanded into a 700-seat restaurant, banquet facility and coffee shop. The restaurant was an overwhelming success, attracting such high-profile clientele as the young senator and future president, John F. Kennedy as well as the Congressman and future Speaker of the House, Tip O'Neil. The restaurant even played a bit part in the infamous Brink's Robbery, when one of the suspects suggested that he was at the Homestead when the robbery took place.
In 1962, the Lingos family acquired the land behind the restaurant to build a small motel, and when, in 1963, a devastating fire completely destroyed the 700-seat restaurant… the motel project continued. Later that same year, The Homestead Motor Inn was open for business!
In 1984, the family joined Best Western International, changing the property's name to the Best Western Homestead Inn. And now, in 2002-2003 the third generation of Lingos - three sisters - own and operate the hotel and are implementing this ambitious $3 million renovation to create a distinctively different property, The Best Western Hotel Tria… an experience for every style!
